A wedding in the wilds of Africa is a completely unique way to embark on married life. Each safari wedding at Kapama is a meticulously planned and coordinated event, further enhanced by dedication to creating an unforgettable day for the bridal couple.
Given the personal nature of a wedding, each event is tailored to suit the bridal couple’s personal wishes. A variety of venues and accommodation styles means Kapama is an ideal choice for both large and small wedding celebrations.
Late afternoon wedding ceremonies in a bush setting are the most popular and allow enough time for atmospheric photographs before sunset. Whilst the photo session is in progress, guests can enjoy a relaxed game drive as part of their African wedding safari, before returning to the lodge to freshen up for the reception dinner.
Numerous optional extras can also be included in the wedding day celebrations, such as a local African choir singing at the wedding ceremony. Wedding venue décor, entertainment, a wedding cake and flowers can also be arranged, along with hairdressers and make-up artists for the bridal party.
While the standard wedding package includes two daily game drives, accommodation and all lodge meals, anything additional - including exclusive use of the lodge and all its facilities, game drive vehicles and staff - can also be arranged.
Accommodation options on Kapama Private Game Reserve include:
River Lodge: 128 beds (64 suites)
Buffalo Camp: 20 beds (10 luxury tented suites)
Kapama Karula: 24 beds (10 superior suites, 2 superior family suites)
Southern Camp: 50 beds (15 luxury suites and 10 standard rooms).
Often a cause of concern and confusion is the legality of a safari wedding. While an ordained minister may perform the ceremony in the bush, the signing of the register needs to take place under a permanent structure to legalise the marriage. There may also be other legal requirements, depending on the couple’s religion and country of origin. Should specialist attention be required for this administration, a wedding coordinator will be subcontracted to ensure everything runs smoothly, and additional information regarding legalities can be supplied on request.
Kapama’s event planners will be delighted to discuss your particular and personal requirements, and provide a quote for your consideration.
