With all the newly born impala lambs and warthog piglets around at the moment, the last thing I expected to find on my game drive this morning, was another lioness with cubs. We were very fortunate to have spotted the proud mother moving two cubs one by one to a new hiding spot. At first we thought she killed a young warthog and was looking for a shady place to feed, but as we got closer we noticed the less-than-a-month old baby carefully clasped in the mom’s jaws! It was such an amazing sight especially if you think that they normally kill their prey with those same jaws. This is the third lioness this year to have given birth! We are looking forward a lot more priceless moments as they grow older!
