This morning we were so fortunate to wtness the birth of a beautiful, healthy nyala baby.
It all started when management spotted the female nyala lying under a tree in the shade looking very uncomfortable! The news spread like veld fire and soon everyone (including guests) were watching this wonder of nature unfold. (of cause a good distance away)
It all took about 20 minutes and as i am writing this story, the baby struggles to take its first steps. It is not so important for nyala`s to stand and walk immediately as for the mother hides them for about 2 weeks.
In the end we all left them to relax and start the bonding prosess. What a way to start the day!!!
